Pin Your Android 10 Screen

Screen pinning locks an app in open view. If you wish to close it or access the home screen, prompt the lock screen security input.

Note:  To see which version of Android is installed on your device, go to Settings, and then tap “About Phone>Software Information.”

Pin an app’s screen to keep it in view you until you unpin it. 

1. First of all, go to “Settings>Security or Biometrics and security > Other security settings.
2. Scroll down to Advanced and select the toggle next to Pin Windows. 
3. You need to turn on Screen Pinning toggle switch to enable screen pinning.  
4. Make sure to select “Ask for PIN before unpinning” to enhance the security.
5. Now, tap the app icon you wish to open by selecting the “Overview icon.” If you couldn’t see the Overview button, you may need to swipe up to find the app you wish to pin, and tap its icon at the top.
6. Choose Pin this App and press and hold Back and Overview simultaneously to unpin the app.
7. You need to enter your pin, pattern, password or biometric security option to unpin the screen. 
8. You’ve successfully unpinned the app.

Android Older Version 8.0

If you’re using an older version of Android, the instructions are a bit different. Here’s how to do so.

Take the first steps and click on Settings>Lock screen and security>other security settings.

Tap Pin Windows and toggle the button to enable the screen pinning. Screen pinning is turn on and now you will be asked to select the screen lock type. 

Now, tap Overview and then select the app you want to lock. Tap the thumbtack in the lower right corner and then tap start. 

Select and hold the Back and Overview icons to unpin the Windows. You can enter the pattern, pin, password, or scan your biometric security option to unpin the app. 

Note: There is no way to recover the password to a built-in password from android. In case, you forget the password so you have to reset the device and you may lose all your data, so choose the one you won’t forget or write it down in a safe place.

Lock Your Apps on Android with Second Space

This way of locking apps would not actually put passwords on apps. Basically, creating a second space on your phone is like a second screen on your phone and you can lock that screen. What you need to do is, just put all the essential apps you want to protect from other hands in the second space screen, and lock that screen with a different password. Now, you have two screens and each screen has different passwords. If you’re using casually your phone, you can open the first screen and can use your phone and in case, you need to use those essential apps, just enter the second space screen password and the screen that contains your app will open. This is how the second space screen secures your apps and your phone without putting passwords on apps.
