How to Change Xfinity Wi-Fi Password on App

1. First of all, open Xfinity My Account on your phone or tablet. It’s the white or grey icon with a blue chat bubble, with the word that says “Xfinity” inside. Now, you’ll usually find it on the home screen (iPhone/iPad) or in the app drawer (Android). Make sure you’re already logged in, if not, then you need to sign in first.


2. Once you’re in, go ahead. Open your Internet settings. Make sure it might slightly different for iOS and Android. 

  • If you’re using iPhone/iPad, then click Internet at the bottom of the screen.
  • If you’re using an Android phone, then click the three horizontal lines at the top-left corner of the screen, then click the Internet in the menu.

3. Now, select your wireless modem or router under the “Device” header.


4. Now, click the “Change Wi-Fi Settings,” option in the menu. On this screen, you can enter the desired new password into the second blank. Make sure the entered password should be of minimum of 8 characters including numbers, upper case, and lower case letters.


5. Click “Save” at the bottom of the screen. The new password is now saved. You’ll see a message that says the gateway is being updated and that the process may take several minutes.

6. Finally, click Done at the top-right corner of the screen. Make sure to wait for a while and then reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Upon reconnecting, you’ll have to enter the new Wi-Fi password. 

Any computers, phones, tablets, and other devices that were previously connected to this access point will have to reconnect using the new password.

How to Change Xfinity Password for Wi-Fi Hotspots 

Here’s how to change the Xfinity password for Wi-Fi hotspots:

1. First of all, open Xfinity My Account on your phone or tablet. It’s the white or grey icon with a blue chat bubble, with the word that says “Xfinity” inside. Note: You can use this method to change your password you use to access Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots when you’re not at your home. Doing so will also change the password you use to sign in to your account.

2. Click on the “Profile” title. This title includes your name and Xfinity username.

How to Change Xfinity Wi-Fi Password on Computer

Whether you’re using Mac or Windows PC, here’s how to change Xfinity Wi-Fi password on computer.

1. Visit Xfinity Account on your web browser, whether on mac or Windows. If you’re not already signed into your Xfinity account, then sign into your account first using your username and password.


2. Once you’re in, click “Settings.” You can find it in the menu bar at the top of the page. 

3. Now, click “Internet,” under the “Xfinity Services” header in the second group of settings. 

4. Click “Wi-Fi Credentials” next to “Service Details.”

5. Next, find the “Edit” button next to “Wi-Fi password.” It’s the second “Edit” button on the screen.

6. Clicking on the “Edit” button will take give you the option to change the password. Now, type the new password in the provided field. Make sure the entered password should be of minimum of 8 characters including numbers, upper case, and lower case letters.


7. Finally, hit “Save.” This will change the Xfinity Wi-Fi password. Wait for a while, it may take a few moments for the settings to be updated.

8.  Make sure to wait for a while and then reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Upon reconnecting, you’ll have to enter the new Wi-Fi password.

How to Reset Xfinity Password 

If you forgot your Xfinity password, here’s how you can reset your Xfinity Password.

1. First of all, visit xfinity.com/password on your web browser and enter your Xfinity ID and click Continue. Doing so will search your Xfinity account in order to recover your password.


Note: If you’re not sure what your username is, go to xfinity.com/username .

2. Now, you need to complete the security check by entering the “Captcha,” or “Moving letters” in the box, and click Continue. 

3. Now, choose the mode of recovery for your password and click Continue. If you have only one recovery option available, then you won’t see a list.

Note: The secret  question and answer recovery option won’t display if you have two verified contact points (i.e., mobile phone number and personal email.)

4. If you choose an email option, you’ll see a screen confirming that a password reset link has been sent over your email. Check your email for the reset link and click on the link.  Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password. Or

5. If you choose text messages on the phone number, you’ll get a code. Enter that reset code here and click Continue. Or

6. If you choose the call option, you’ll get an automated call that speaks the reset code aloud to you. Enter that code here and click Continue. Or

7. Finally, if you choose to reset your password by answering few secret questions, then you need to enter the answer to your questions and click Continue.

Note: This mode is valid for 3 times. It means if you enter an incorrect answer to your secret question three times, this recovery mode will be temporarily disabled on the third failed attempt. After that you will need to pick another way to reset the password. 

8. Now, you can create your password. Enter the new password twice and confirm your new password. Once you’re done, click Continue. You should see a confirmation page when you’re good to go.
